March Host of Write1Sub1

W1S1 2013 Weekly.220by139That’s right. This month, I’ll be hosting over at Write 1 Sub 1. If you haven’t heard about this awesome group, please head over to check it out. Write 1 Sub 1 is a weekly/monthly challenge dedicated in following Ray Bradbury’s writing motto: write a short story
a week/month, and submit a short story a week/month.  It is never too late to join or resume.

The hope of the challenge is that not only will you better yourself as a writer for setting goals and writing every day/week, but you’ll likely get a few good acceptances along the way, and some terrific rejections. Yes, rejections are good for our character. We need them, otherwise our writer heads will explode with overconfidence and laziness my friends.

In addition to weekly check-ins for those brave enough to take on the challenge, I’ll also be posting some little tidbits about writing during the week, every Wednesday. You don’t have to be a member to visit, comment, or obtain resources. There are several editor interviews of the best and popular publications and many posts offering valuable writing tips and advice.

“I know you’ve heard it a thousand times before. But it’s true – hard work pays off. If you want to be good, you have to practice, practice, practice. If you don’t love something, then don’t do it.” —Ray Bradbury

  1. Thanks, Deb. The links on the side is still a WIP. I’m considering making a separate page for them, for it is becoming very convenient for me to skim through the details of my favorite publications and hopefully for others too.

  2. Hooorah. I’m looking forward to your month, Erin. Hey, I’ve just noticed your links to venues. Very cool, thanks!

  3. Good luck with your drive, Erin! Personally, I’m still editing novels, but I’m taking some breathers to make sure more of my unsubmitted pile goes out the door. Just got one off to Clarkesworld yesterday.
