Yes, of all the supernatural creatures, I love werewolves the most. They are incredibly fast, cunning, have a deep connection to night and the moon, are savage, yet beautiful in human form, and are usually the result of bad luck or a curse. It sounds very vamp-ish, right? But here is where the two differ: werewolves are still human, and that’s where it gets interesting.
Although the werewolf is most notably known to emerge during the full moon at night, in an uncontrollable agony, their transformation is not limited to dark, lunar influences, at least not in my next book. This summer, I’m going to start a new horror novel, and my lead character will be a werewolf. She has a lot of baggage, that only increases when she gets hooked up with an ex-mobster. As the two of them run from their troubles together, they both learn that not only does trouble follow, but it has hair, fangs, and an insatiable appetite to kill.
I try to incorporate a good deal of research in my books, so as part of that, this post is to invite you to share your favorite werewolf attribute, character, book, movie, etc. Tell me, why do you like werewolves?
