The nightmare is real…
Kate Waters suffers from narcoleptic hallucinations, which recently involve her unreachable sister, Jev, and a mysterious key. When Kate receives the terrible news concerning Jev’s fatal car accident and acquires the strange key from her visions, she unlocks her sister’s world of perilous secrets involving witchcraft, poltergeist, and a heartless killer determined to get back what is his.
The danger lies in whom to trust.
Terrifying paranormal encounters, a trailing wolf, and an attempted murder of one of Jev’s friends, forces Kate to turn to the one she fears most, the priestess of Jev’s coven, Thea. She challenges Kate’s beliefs and provides her vital clues about her sister’s murder, but will Kate overcome her fears before anyone else dies? To do so, she will have to trust in a world where the possibilities are unbelievable and the consequences are deadly.

Ahh, sweet goodness. I have published my first novel. I can’t say it went as planned, since I didn’t really have one, except to one day hold it in my hand. That day has come, and I feel …giddy…I’ll never admit that again.
Originally titled, Unearthing Jev, I decided to change the name to Grave Echoes. There were a few reasons for this, but the main one was for marketing, which my editors and I agreed that Grave Echoes was a more attractive title.
My sincere thanks to Janice for her outstanding edits of my novel. She played an integral role in its completion and I am grateful for her invaluable insight. I’d also like to thank Jenn and Lauren at AuthorHouse for leading me through the publishing process.
After some time spent looking for an agent, which I will still be pursuing, and regretfully turning down a small press acceptance, I found it more important to get my book out in the world, start building an audience, acquire a few reviews, and focus on the sequel, Wicked Tempest. I believe self-publishing is an important step for any author to make, to fully understand the underpinnings of the publishing industry – it is not a smooth sailing adventure and can be just as nerve-wracking as writing the book. From designing the book cover to door-to-door marketing, I am and will grasp the complete cycle of writing a book, my product, from beginning to end.
You can read the first few pages of the book at Amazon, an excerpt at Nicole Hadaway’s blog: All Things Smart and Scary, and a personal note on the development of my novel in The Cellar pages of my blog, under the title, “Write What(you don’t know) You Know.” I also have a new website up: erincolewrites.
Many thanks to everyone.
Cheers!
